New Culture:
Rise as a master of the Mercantile culture, built on turning every deal, alliance, and rivalry into profit. Place cities on both land and sea, and expand your influence, always getting more out of the bargain than anyone else.
Choose between two ruthless subcultures: the Cartel, masters of information and manipulation who run camouflaged smuggling routes and turn stolen leverage into battlefield advantage; and the Barony, wealthy trade princes and nobles who command armies and place bounties on their enemies.
Two New Forms to conquer the seas:
Aqualon — near-human beings touched by the sea's mystery, elegant and otherworldly in equal measure.
Sharkkin — monstrous warriors baring tooth and fin, forged for brutal battle beneath the waves.
Additionally, transform your people into Merfolk with the Children of the Waves society trait.
New Tomes:
Tome of Hydromancy: Rush your allies, manipulate your enemies, and make them vulnerable to powers of lightning and frost.
Tome of the Damned: Apply Ghostfire to your enemies and use it as a conduit to summon Accursed Wisps.
Tome of Piracy: Dominate the seas with highly mobile skirmishers, use explosive Ember Dust, and plunder and pillage your enemies.
Tome of Eternal Ice: A tome of great power that must be earned. Embrace the power of frost to freeze the ocean itself.
New Dwelling: Bond of the Free Captains
Encounter one of three pirate captains, each ruling their own dwelling with unique ambitions, temperaments, and secrets to uncover. Forge alliances, exploit rivalries, or crush them outright as you build toward a Life Bond, unlocking exclusive shops, units, and stolen technologies along the way.
