We’re always watching, always searching for supernatural elements in the real world. These tapes were recovered from systems that we no longer monitor. 

Create a short clip from the perspective of a character within World of Darkness for a chance to step into the light. Think surveillance footage, confessionals, interrupted feeds full of analogue horror references.

Please fill out the form below, and a panel of judges from the White Wolf team will pick their favourite fan video twice a month. We will reveal the winning pieces on the World of Darkness website, crediting the author, and then share them on our social channels every other Wednesday.

The winners will receive a digital PDF copy of their choice from the V5 library of books, and the title “Marked by REDACTED” on the official World of Darkness Discord if they are a member (optional; Discord membership is not required to enter the competition).  

The judging will be based on atmosphere, WoD In-Universe feel, creativity and adherence to the concept. Please keep the clips between 30 seconds and 2 minutes, use the MP4 or MOV format, stay under 3GB in size, and all spoken dialogue and text must be in English. 

This is a fan-video contest, and no published content will be considered canon or official. All stories should relate to the V5-line of books.

Submissions will open on April 7th 2026 at 16:00 CET, and the contest will end on September 22rd 2026 at 16:00 CET. It will run for 6 months, and there will be 12 winners; two winners per month. Submissions are accepted continuously throughout the contest period and grouped monthly for judging purposes. There are no specific themes covering the different months, but for moderation purposes, they are divided as follows (Times are listed in CEST.):

There are no physical prizes, so it’s open to all countries. Multiple entries from the same person are accepted, but only one win per person. Paradox Interactive reserves the right to refuse entries if they depict illegal or offensive material. No purchase required to enter.

All depicted characters must be 18 years or older. AI-generated/assisted content will not be allowed; this includes AI-generated visuals, voices, or scripts. All participants must be over 18, and have consented to appear on camera. You must own all footage submitted. Your footage must clearly imply who is filming and why. No real surveillance of unknowing people. No real locations presented as actual crimes. No real brands/logos presented as complicit. No excessive gore or real violence. Content warnings are encouraged, but not required.

Each decision of the winner by the White Wolf team is final, but if you believe a winner has broken any rules please contact us at worldofdarkness@paradoxinteractive.com and we will review. This should only be for rule violations; artistic disagreements are not grounds for appeal. Paradox Interactive reserves the right to disqualify any entry found to be in violation of these rules at any time.

Paradox Interactive retains a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, distribute and publicly communicate the submission on any platform (or list the platforms) for an unlimited duration.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR [Tapes from the Shadows: A World of Darkness Found Footage Fan Contest]

1. General

The [TAPES FROM THE SHADOWS: A WORLD OF DARKNESS FOUND FOOTAGE FAN CONTEST] (“Promotion”) is managed and promoted by Paradox Interactive AB, Magnus Ladulåsgatan 4, 556667-4759 (“Paradox”, “we”, and “us”). These terms and conditions explain who may participate, the time frame, entries, costs and expenses, intellectual property, disqualification, privacy, notification, prize, taxes etc. Please read these terms and conditions carefully prior to participating. By entering this Promotion, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions. The Promotion is part of marketing efforts for our services. The Promotion and these terms and conditions will be governed by Swedish law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sweden.

THIS PROMOTION IS IN NO WAY SPONSORED, ADMINISTERED, ENDORSED, OR ASSOCIATED WITH ANY SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM (FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, TWITCH, TWITTER, DISCORD OR OTHER AS MAY BE), AND YOU ARE PROVIDING THE INFORMATION AND ENTRY TO PARADOX SOLELY.

2. Entrants 

The Promotion is open for anyone around the world aged 18 or above. Employees (and members of their immediate family) of Paradox, our agents, affiliates, and anyone connected to this Promotion are not eligible to enter.

3. Time Frame

The Promotion starts at [16:00 CET] on [MARCH 11TH 2026] and ends at [16:00 CET] on [SEPTEMBER 23RD 2026] and the winner of the Promotion will be announced on the dates listed on the website. Entries or participation after this time will not be considered.

4. Rules to participate

No purchase of any goods or services is necessary to be eligible for entry into this prize draw. To participate in the Promotion, the entrant must:

• Be eighteen (18) years of age or older and have obtained the consent of all individuals appearing in the submission.

• Entries must consist of original written content created solely by the entrant. The use of AI-generated or AI-assisted content is strictly prohibited.

• All entries must be submitted via the official World of Darkness website submission form.

• Submit a video with a duration of no less than thirty (30) seconds and no more than two (2) minutes.

• Ensure the submission is thematically related to the World of Darkness V5 line of books.

• Ensure that all depicted characters are eighteen (18) years of age or older.

• Not use any AI-generated or AI-assisted content, including but not limited to AI-generated visuals, voices, or scripts.

• Own all footage submitted and hold all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to submit and use the content.

• Ensure the submission clearly implies who is recording the footage and the reason for the recording.

• Not include real surveillance footage of individuals who were unaware they were being recorded.

• Not depict real-world locations as the sites of actual crimes.

• Not depict real brands, trademarks, or logos as being complicit in fictional events.

• Not include excessive gore or depictions of real-world violence.

• Give Paradox Interactive a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, distribute and publicly communicate the artwork on any platform (or list the platforms) for an unlimited duration.

Entries that does not comply with the rules, may be deemed invalid at the sole discretion of Paradox. Paradox is not responsible for entries not received for whatever reason, for example, but not limited to technical, hardware or software malfunctions, misdirected entries, lost or unavailable network connections, incorrect, garbled, failed, delayed electronic or other communications or other technical problems related to entries. 

Paradox reserves the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to this webpage. Paradox also reserves the right to amend or cancel the Promotion if circumstances arise outside of Paradox’s reasonable control.

Paradox is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this Promotion.

Any participant who attempts or enters the Promotion in a manner, which in Paradox’s determination is contrary to these rules or by its nature is fraudulent or unjust to other entrants including without limitation tampering with the operation of the Promotion, hacking, cheating, deception or any other unfair playing practices such as intending to threaten, annoy, abuse, or harass any other entrants or Paradox and/or any of its agents or representatives, or who submits an illegible or incomplete entry may be rejected from the Promotion at Paradox’s sole discretion. 

5. Prize

The prizes stated above have no alternatives. They are non-transferable and cannot be sold. If due to circumstances beyond reasonable control of Paradox, Paradox is unable to provide the above stated prizes, Paradox reserves the right to award substitute prizes of equal value. All prizes are subject to the terms and conditions of any supplier. Any taxes due on the prize will be paid by the winner. This may or may not mean that the winner(s) will receive a net prize that is lower than the possible gross prize stated above. Paradox’s decision as to those able to take part and selection of winners is final and is subject to Paradox’s sole discretion. No correspondence relating to the Promotion will be entered into. 

Please ensure that you make a claim for your prize money within 30 days of winning; otherwise, the claim will be considered invalid. This timeframe is necessary to guarantee that we can pay you within 90 days of your victory. If you want to make a claim for the prize money as a legal entity (company, association or similar), we request that you send us an invoice. You may also have to comply with further instructions. If you want to make a claim for the prize money as an individual, we will report the payment of the prize money to the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket), which may, if applicable, share the information with your local tax authority. Paradox Interactive AB reserves the right to request additional information from you in order to process the payment and to report the payment to the relevant tax authority. If you are selected as a winner of the tournament, you will be required to complete a prize information form and submit it to the Paradox Interactive AB Finance Department in order to receive your payment. Paradox Interactive AB will not deduct taxes or social fees before the prize money is transferred to you. Depending on the winner’s residency, the fees or taxes that need to be declared by a winner may vary. Please contact your local tax office for current rates and fees. Please note that players residing in the following countries and territories will not be eligible to receive payment from Paradox Interactive AB if they win the tournament: Russia, Belarus, Syria, North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Myanmar, Libya, Crimea and Sevastopol.

6. Results

The winner(s) will be contacted by [EMAIL provided in the form]. Paradox is entitled to select alternative winner(s) from among the entrants If the winner(s) cannot be traced after reasonable efforts made by Paradox. A list of all winner(s) will be available on [the World of Darkness website] following the day of the selection of winners. Paradox reserves the right to choose another winner if satisfactory proof of age and/or parental consent is not received (if applicable).

7. Intellectual property

By submitting your  to us you hereby grant Paradox a non-exclusive, perpetual, transferable, irrevocable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, and worldwide license to use, modify, reproduce, publish, perform, display, distribute, make derivative works of and otherwise commercially and non-commercially exploit all content submitted by you in any manner or medium now existing or hereafter developed, without separate compensation to you or any other person or entity. 

8. Privacy

Any entrant’s personal data processed in conjunction with the Promotion is processed for the purpose to execute the Promotion and to adhere to any legal obligations. Processing of personal data for this purpose is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party. If Paradox is not allowed to process the personal data, the entrant will not be able to participate in the Promotion. Paradox will share the personal data only to such suppliers that must have it in order to execute the Promotion, i.e. social media platforms, travel agencies and carriers. These recipients may process the personal data outside of the European Union and Paradox ensures the safety of the personal data by entering into legally binding and enforceable standard data protection clauses or any other appropriate safeguard. The personal data will be processed for up to three months from the end of the Promotion or as long as Paradox is legally obliged to process the data.
