What is “Bones of the Empire”?

We won’t just have one Actual Play at Gen Con 2026: we’ll have two! The first one is “Not in Our Domain!”, which features the playtest adventure based on the new Vampire: The Masquerade project. But “Bones of the Empire” is the second Actual Play we're announcing, this one based on the “Bound by Blood” D&D supplement. “Bones of the Empire” is made in partnership with Dungeons & Dragons and will take place on their stage on Friday, July 31st at 8 PM ET. The storyteller will be the Dean of Dungeon Master University and former World of Darkness Brand Manager Jason Carl, and he’ll be joined at the table by Ginny Di, Zach the Bold, Persephone Valentine, and Lua Stardust. Buy your ticket here.

Join the coterie as they prevent the collision of the century

Join Jason Carl and a vampire coterie as they investigate what happened to a mysterious alchemist on a dark night in Prague, 1350 AD. The alchemist had been working on a dangerous formula that combined Tremere sorcery and Tzimisce flesh-crafting to create untold horrors by crafting Gargoyle servants from captured vampires. The coterie of Cainites has only one night to find the secret scroll before the two most dangerous clans in Bohemia descend upon Prague to find it. Will they manage to prevent a collision that will leave its mark on the city and Europe for centuries? 

This official Actual Play combines the gothic horrors and political darkness of Vampire: The Masquerade with the D&D rules, showing you some of the potential storytelling that is now available to you.

Be sure to tune in to the Future of White Wolf panel on Thursday, July 30th, where we will discuss the big in-house-developed project that we teased at Darkness Emergent. And don’t miss the “Not in Our Domain!” Actual Play(test) showing off said project on Sunday, August 2nd, run by Alexander Ward and joined by Xander Jeanneret, Ify Nwadiwe, Anna Margaret and Diana DiMicco as players. This one will also be livestreamed and recorded, so even if you can’t be there in person, you’ll be able to see the story take place wherever you are.
