The Grandest LAN takes place at historic Czocha Castle in southwestern Poland. For four days, you will play, eat, sleep and celebrate inside a medieval fortress transformed into a living political arena. The entire castle is reserved exclusively for the event. Everyone you meet is part of the same story.
Between stone corridors and secret passages run kilometres of cables and dozens of computers. History and modern multiplayer collide in the most literal way possible.
Ninety-six participants are divided into teams of three, each controlling a single nation. Every team member has a defined role in navigating early modern diplomacy, forging alliances, gathering intelligence and managing the in-game strategy. You are not just playing a country. You are representing it.
The Grandest LAN is not built around competition. It is built around narrative. Nations will rise and fall, but the goal is to create a new and unforgettable chapter of alternative history, shaped by the creativity and dramatic instincts that Paradox players are known for.
There is space for intensity and space to breathe. For strategy and for celebration.
The Scenario
To create a truly unforgettable story, we build an additional layer on top of the regular multiplayer session of EU5.
This is not just a standard campaign with modified settings. The scenario introduces a shared narrative framework and a set of carefully designed rules that apply to everyone. These mechanics encourage diplomacy in person, where meetings with rivals and allies take place in the elegant rooms of the castle itself. The halls become spaces for negotiation, persuasion, alliances and betrayal.
Alongside the strategic gameplay, we introduce a live roleplay dimension. A larger story unfolds around the campaign, casting you and your team as key figures within it. This narrative is brought to life by Characters portrayed by professional actors, interacting both at the physical location and within the multiplayer session.
How deeply you choose to engage is entirely up to you. You can immerse yourself fully or focus primarily on strategy. The system is designed to enhance the experience without forcing participation.
All details regarding newly introduced rules, roleplay systems, game masters and changes to the default setup will be outlined in the Rulebook, which will be made available prior to the event.
